What has changed and how?
On our new website, we’ll publish articles on a rolling basis. This will enable us to cover the most relevant, up-to-date topics and phenomena and serve our readers best.
Seasonal themes
At the same time, we’ll continue publishing articles under themes. For example, Peace Education will be our seasonal theme for winter 2023-24 and in spring 2024 we’ll focus on Digital Learning. Themes will be covered with a broad, multi-faceted set of articles. A wide array of current topics outside the themes will be also published during each season.
Articles in four categories
Articles will be placed under four categories where you can easily find them based on your interests. In the category of ‘Learning & teaching,’ you’ll find articles on good practices, benefits and challenges of adult education and lifelong learning. Articles also cover questions of global societal phenomena and how they link to lifelong learning.
In ‘World of research,’ ELM opens a window onto the latest in research by interviewing researchers and discussing research in an understandable, accessible way.
Articles in ‘New perspectives’ category offer depth and context for new trends and phenomena in the societies and in the world of adult education. In the ‘Opinion’ section, thought-provoking columns and essays approach current issues from personal points of view.
Theme issues 2017-2023
The previous theme issues, from Sustainable Future (3/2023) back to New Forms of Citizenship (1/2017) are still available in a separate section of the site.
Tags help you to find articles
All articles can also be searched with the help of key words or tags.
New design and logo
Along with the change, ELM’s website design and logo have been updated. The upgraded website design offers many user-experience improvements and more opportunities for interaction. The new design aims to be fresh, contemporary and more accessible – and easy to use on both desktop and mobile platforms.
The new logo, with its simplified, refined elements, is easily identifiable with the ELM brand while conveying the magazine’s mission and values.
